Minimising environmental impact through responsible and innovative practices.
Trees Planted
166,000 trees planted in 2024, enhancing biodiversity and green spaces across our communities
Site Waste Recycled
90% of site waste is recycled each month in Melbourne, significantly reducing landfill and supporting sustainable construction practices
Tonnes Recycled
913,000 tonnes recycled on-site, saving 65,000 truck trips and preventing 1,096 tonnes of CO₂ emissions
At Excell Gray Bruni, sustainability is embedded in the way we plan, deliver and operate. We take a practical, outcomes-driven approach that balances environmental responsibility with construction performance, ensuring our projects minimise impact while delivering long-term value. Through innovation, smarter systems and considered material use, we are committed to protecting natural environments and supporting more sustainable communities.
Water Management & Protection
We implement advanced water management systems to protect natural waterways and improve water quality. This includes sediment and erosion controls, retention systems and innovative treatment solutions such as flocculation systems that ensure compliant and responsible discharge.
Recycling & Material Reuse
Our projects prioritise the reuse of on-site materials, supported by dedicated in-house recycling depots (pictured) and storage facilities for concrete and rock. By reducing waste and limiting the need for imported materials, we minimise environmental impact while improving project efficiency.
Sustainable Construction Practices
We continue to transition to digital systems, reducing paper use through electronic inductions, site reporting and QR-based processes. We also work with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to responsible procurement and sustainable outcomes.
Innovation & Low-Impact Solutions
EGB actively invests in innovation, including renewable energy solutions such as solar-powered facilities, biofuel and hybrid plant and equipment. These initiatives support lower emissions and more efficient project delivery.
Accreditation
EGB takes a practical approach to sustainability, focusing on reducing environmental impact while delivering long-term value for clients and communities. Guided by ISO 14001:2015 and government frameworks, we prioritise responsible resource use, environmental protection and social outcomes, embedding sustainable thinking into planning, procurement and project delivery.
