Excell Gray Bruni has played a key role in the delivery of Harpley Estate, one of Victoria’s largest and most significant masterplanned communities. Since commencing in 2015, EGB has delivered extensive civil infrastructure, environmental assets and landscaping works that support the development of over 2,500 residential lots.
A major component of the project includes the construction of four large-scale wetlands, designed to manage stormwater, improve water quality and enhance the natural environment. These systems are complemented by integrated drainage infrastructure and supported by innovative water management solutions developed throughout the project lifecycle.
EGB also delivered key structural elements, including a 40 metre span bridge, along with extensive landscaping, public open spaces and playgrounds that contribute to the liveability of the community.
This long-term project highlights EGB’s ability to deliver complex, multi-stage developments, combining engineering capability with environmental responsibility to create infrastructure that supports both community growth and sustainable outcomes.

Delivering the wetlands at Harpley required precise coordination of earthworks, water control and environmental management across a live, multi-stage development. EGB implemented advanced water treatment solutions, including innovative flocculation systems, to manage sediment and protect downstream waterways.
The result is a resilient system that improves water quality, supports biodiversity and creates long-term environmental value for the community.
Carefully selected native species have been integrated throughout the landscape to create resilient habitats, improve environmental performance and contribute to a thriving natural environment for both wildlife and the surrounding community.
